Socially Responsible Leadership

Engage was started in 2004 by Bruce Campbell. Having formerly worked at a large, well-known training firm, his vision was to offer world-class presentation, sales and leadership classes without the world-class price. In 2008, a conversation with two of Boston's most respected business and non-profit leaders completely changed our business. They suggested we create a coaching program built around corporate citizenship. From that conversation came a completely new approach to socially responsible leadership.

Today our services give business and non-profit leaders a completely new way to do great things together.  Below is what our clients consistently say are our competitive advantages. You can expect the same when we work together.

Commitment. You will have access to a firm that does everything and anything necessary to make you, your company or non-profit organization, the non-profit organizations you support, and your employees more successful.

Trust. You will get all of the above for whatever fee we have agreed upon in the beginning. Every client will tell you we are constantly doing extras without the extra billing. It's that simple.

Knowledge. You will be dealing with people who, according to our clients, know a lot about business issues and the issues facing non-profit organizations and new trends in strategic corporate citizenship. A balance of knowledge that you probably will not find anywhere else.

Community involvement is a big part of Engage’s culture. In addition to the services we provide businesses and non-profits, we support our communities in many ways. For example:

  • Since our founding in 2004 we have donated at least 20 days of coaching and consulting each year to local non-profit organizations.
  • We provide United Way of Mass Bay & Merrimack Valley with unlimited free professional development for their executives and key employees.
  • In 2008 we created a new kind of fundraiser for local socially responsible teenagers. They needed to raise money for their summer trip to the Appalachia Service Project where they will be helping disadvantaged kids and adults. Engage conducted a public speaking class for teenagers and 100% of the tuition was donated for the trip.
  • In 2009 we gave over 50 scholarships so leaders of small local non-profits could attend our classes on fundraising and presentation skills.
  • We created a leadership development program for homeless and disadvantaged kids. The program focuses on enhancing their public speaking skills so they build greater confidence and self-esteem.
